How We Can Help?
Formal Customs Entry & Destination Port Fees
If you choose Sea Freight (Ocean Cargo) or request a Formal Customs Entry for tax purposes, please be aware of the “Local Fees” at your destination.
1. What is Formal Entry? It is a legal declaration process where you (the importer) act as the “Importer of Record” to clear goods commercially.
2. The “Hidden” Costs at Destination (For Sea Freight) Even if you paid the “Shipping Cost” to us, the Destination Port will charge you separate fees to release the cargo. These are NOT charged by Aurora Global Brands; they are charged by the port authority/warehouse.
- DTHC (Terminal Handling Charges): Cost to move the container off the ship.
- Doc Fee: Paperwork fee.
- Warehousing/Unpacking Fee: Cost to unload your pallets from the shared container (LCL).
- Bond Fee: Customs bond cost (specifically for US imports).
Tip: These fees can range from $300 to $800+ per shipment. For small orders (<$3,000), Sea Freight might actually be more expensive than Air Freight once these fees are added.
