How We Can Help?
Can I manufacture a custom bottle shape from a sketch or AI image? (Structure vs. Decoration)
We love the creativity that AI tools and hand sketches bring to brand building. However, turning a 2D drawing of a unique bottle shape into a physical product is a complex industrial process.
Here is the reality of manufacturing custom shapes versus using standard packaging, so you can choose the right path for your budget.
1. The “Dream” Path: Custom Molding (Structural Design) If you want a bottle shape that does not exist in our catalog (e.g., a star-shaped bottle or a specific curve from your AI image), this requires Custom Tooling.
- The Process:
- 3D Engineering: We must convert your drawing into a CAD technical file ($$$).
- Prototyping: 3D printing a sample to check ergonomics ($$).
- Mold Opening: Creating steel molds for mass production.
- Cost: Mold fees range from $2,000 to $10,000+ per item (Bottle mold, Cap mold, Pump mold are separate).
- Time: 40-60 days just for the mold.
- MOQ: Usually 10,000+ units per production run.
- Verdict: Only recommended for well-funded brands with high volume forecasts.
2. The “Smart” Path: Public Molds + Custom Decoration 95% of beauty brands (even luxury ones) use what we call “Public Molds” (Stock Packaging) but make them look unique through Decoration.
- What is it? You choose a high-quality standard bottle shape from our extensive library.
- How to make it yours? We customize the surface, not the shape.
- Custom Color: Spray the bottle in your brand’s Pantone color (Matte/Gloss/Gradient).
- Custom Finish: Electroplating (Metallic Gold/Silver) or Soft-touch coating.
- Custom Printing: Hot-stamping your logo.
- Benefit: No mold fees, faster launch (3-4 weeks), and flexible MOQs.
3. The “Budget-Friendly” Path: Custom Secondary Packaging If you have a limited budget but want a “custom look,” focus on the Box, not the Bottle.
- Strategy: Use our standard, low-cost Private Label bottle (transparent/black/white).
- The Upgrade: Invest in a Fully Custom Box (MOQ 1000). You can design the box with unique graphics, embossing, or foil stamping.
- Result: The customer sees a unique box on the shelf, giving you a premium feel without the high cost of custom bottle manufacturing.
4. The “Starter” Path: Private Label
- Strategy: Use our standard bottle + standard box.
- Customization: Hot-stamp your logo on both.
- Benefit: Lowest cost, lowest MOQ (12 units), fastest speed.
Summary Guide for Decision Making:
Tip: If you are a startup, we strongly recommend starting with Tier 3 or Tier 4. Validate your market first, then invest in custom molds later.
