How We Can Help?
DHL vs. FedEx vs. UPS: How do we choose the carrier?
Clients often ask: “Can you ship with FedEx because I have an account?” or “Why did you use UPS instead of DHL?”
At Aurora Global Brands, we work with all major global carriers (DHL, FedEx, UPS). However, choosing the right carrier for Cosmetics is not just about preference—it depends on Safety, Content, and Region.
1. The “Liquid” Constraint (Why we can’t always choose)
- General Goods: T-shirts or books can fly on any plane.
- Cosmetics: Liquids, creams, and powders are “Sensitive Goods.”
- The Reality: Carrier policies change frequently.
- Scenario: Sometimes DHL suspends liquid shipments to the USA due to congestion, so we must switch to FedEx.
- Scenario: Sometimes FedEx imposes strict limits on alcohol-based products (like setting sprays), so we must use UPS.
- Our Policy: We automatically select the carrier that has the safest and fastest active route for your specific product type at the time of shipping.
2. Regional Strengths
- DHL: Typically the fastest for Europe, Middle East, and Asia. Excellent for small parcels (Samples).
- FedEx: Very strong network in North America (USA/Canada). Often offers better rates for heavy boxes (>21kg).
- UPS: Strong in Europe and North America.
3. Economy vs. Priority
- Unless you request “Express Priority” (most expensive), we typically quote “Economy Express” to save you money. This might take 1-2 days longer but significantly reduces shipping costs.
