How We Can Help?
Understanding Shipping Costs: Actual Weight vs. Volumetric Weight
Clients often ask: “My package only weighs 5kg, why am I charged for 10kg?”
International couriers (DHL/FedEx) charge based on the Greater of the two:
- Actual Weight: The physical weight on the scale.
- Volumetric Weight (Dim Weight): The amount of space the box takes up on the plane.
- Formula: Length (cm) x Width (cm) x Height (cm) / 5000.
Why does this matter? Cosmetic packaging (like boxes and bubble wrap) is lightweight but bulky.
- Example: A large box of 50 empty gift boxes might weigh 2kg, but the Volumetric Weight is 8kg. You will be charged for 8kg.
Our Tip: To save on shipping, try to order in full case packs to maximize space efficiency.
