How We Can Help?
Why does tracking sometimes show a delay before movement? (The “Freight Forwarder” Process)
You may notice that after you receive your tracking number, there is a 24-48 hour gap before the package actually shows “Picked Up” or starts moving. Or you may see the flight originating from Hong Kong instead of mainland China.
Here is the behind-the-scenes logistics process for cosmetics.
1. The Strict Export Control on Cosmetics Mainland China has extremely strict aviation security regulations for exporting “Chemical Goods” (Liquids, Creams, Powders).
- Direct Shipping is Restricted: We cannot simply hand a box of lipsticks to a regular DHL/FedEx driver at our factory door. They will reject it without complex “Dangerous Goods” paperwork.
- The Solution: We must use specialized Licensed Freight Forwarders.
2. The Journey: Factory -> Forwarder -> Hong Kong -> World To ensure your package clears customs smoothly, it follows this route:
- Step 1 (Day 1): We hand your package to our licensed Forwarder in mainland China. (We generate the tracking number now).
- Step 2 (Day 1-2): The Forwarder trucks the goods across the border to Hong Kong (a Free Trade Port with looser aviation restrictions for cosmetics).
- Step 3 (Day 2-3): The package is handed over to DHL/FedEx in Hong Kong and scanned into their system.
- Step 4: The package flies to your country.
What this means for you:
- Don’t Panic: If your tracking status says “Shipping Information Received” but doesn’t move for 1-2 days, it is simply traveling on the truck to the Hong Kong airport. This is normal.
- Tracking Updates: You will see the first major scan once it reaches the Hong Kong distribution center.
